Broadclyst’s new £9,000 outdoor gym is ready to use! East Devon District Council has been working hard with Broadclyst Parish Council to provide residents with the free-to-use outdoor gym that they wanted.

Having an outdoor gym in Broadclyst was proposed and chosen by the local community. Earlier this year Broadclyst Parish Council and EDDC asked community groups and others to put forward their ideas as to how £11,800 of sports funding accumulated from recent local housing developments (Section 106 money) should be spent.

Sidmouth's new gym is ready to use!

East Devon District Council has been working hard with Sidmouth Town Council to provide residents with the free-to-use outdoor gym that they wanted.

There will be a grand opening event on Sunday 2 November from 10.30am to 11.30am. There will be free lessons from a personal trainer on how to get the best out of the new equipment, as well as free circus skills on offer!

Learn to survive in the wild

On 20 and 21 July, why not get the camping gear out and spend a weekend at Lydford Gorge near Tavistock learning survival techniques?

An exciting itinerary of activities will run over the weekend. These include looking at what you need to survive in the wild, ‘proper’ den building, learning to light a fire as well as cooking over an open fire. The Dartmoor ranger team will lead the sessions and will even produce hot chocolate at the overnight camp in the orchard at the Gorge.

Big Screen in the Park returns to Northernhay Gardens

Exeter’s most anticipated cinema event returns to Northernhay Gardens on 14 August with more fabulous al fresco films.

A different film will be shown each night on the 10m screen, there will be street food vendors, a cocktail caravan and film-themed activities.

Gates open at 7.30pm and films start at approximately 9pm. Tickets are £3.
