Spectacular baroque concert coming to Exeter Cathedral
Following their Exeter debut in 2013 Blackdowns Early Music Projects return to the Cathedral 7.30pm August 31st with another programme of spectacular baroque choral works performed by an impressive line up of musicians.
Musical Director JanJoost van Elburg will conduct the combined expertise of The Monteverdi String Band, His Majesty’s Sagbutts and Cornetts, the Altenburg Trumpet Ensemble and vocal soloists from the country’s top ensembles, as well as a talented group of singers from all over the UK and Europe.
After spending most of the summer recording their eagerly awaited third album – The Watchmaker's Wife – Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston will undertake a run of UK tour dates in September showcasing tracks from the new album, due for release in the spring of 2016, along with performing material from their back catalogue.

A resurgence in the popularity of folk music, song, dance and crafts resulted in record crowds attending the 38th Dartmoor Folk Festival at the weekend.
Local and national artists entertained audiences at the event held at South Zeal, near Okehampton.
The festival included concerts, dances, a Dartmoor Fayre, a ceilidh, folk service, craft displays, music hall, pub sessions, a ramble on Dartmoor and music, song and dance workshops.

The Cambridge rock five-piece, Mallory Knox are coming to Exeter later this year.
They released their debut album Signals in 2013 and it reached the Top 40 in the album charts. They went on to release their second album, Asymmetry last year and that raced into the top 20 of the album charts at #16!
They will be joined by the American five-piece, Set it Off and the Scottish indie band The Xcerts.

A star among young classical musicians, concert organist Nathan Laube has quickly earned a place among the organ world's elite performers.
