The UK’s leading online platform for parents and childcarers has revealed the top parenting trends for 2020, along with the biggest worries for UK parents going into the new year.

A survey of more than 5,000 parents and guardians of 0 to 16 year-olds has found that limitations on children’s social media use and screen time is the biggest trend for 2020, followed by dismantling gender norms, and plant-based diets. The anti-vaccination movement has been revealed as the biggest worry among parents.

Maternity services at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust have been rated highly by local mums in the 2018 National Maternity Survey.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) survey asked women about their experience of antenatal care, care during labour and birth, and postnatal care. Across the country, responses were received from more than 17,000 women who gave birth in February 2018 in services run by 129 NHS trusts.

Maternity services at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust have been rated highly by mums in the 2017 National Maternity Survey. The Trust performed well across the survey, and has been rated as one of the top performing nationally.

New 'Tinder style' friendship app for mums

Mush is a new free app that connects mums with other local, like-minded mums and generates friendships.

It’s mission is to make the lives of mums more sociable and fun, enabling meet-ups in real life with other mums who can support each other.

New research by global workplace provider Regus has revealed that a fifth of businesses in Exeter are planning to hire more returning mothers than they did a year ago. These latest findings are based on a survey of local business owners and senior managers.

SNUG is a charitable organisation that supports Devon based Neonatal families and works closely with staff from the RD&E’s Neonatal Unit.
