Food charity launches new project providing free meals to the community

FoodCycle , the charity that fights food poverty and loneliness is serving up free meals to the community through their new Project, FoodCycle Exeter at the Mint Methodist Church.

Serving up free takeaway meals every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm this vital service aims to provide food and conversation to local communities across the country.

French orchestra to perform in Exeter and Crediton

An orchestra from Crediton’s twin town in Normandy will be performing in Devon for the first time this weekend.

The 42-strong Avranches Orchestra, featuring musicians aged from 11 to 68, will be playing at the Mint Methodist Church in Exeter on Friday (7.30pm).

The concert will also feature guest soloist Paul Morgan, organist at Exeter Cathedral for 40 years.

The second performance is in Crediton on Saturday (7:30pm) at the Parish Church of the Holy Cross where they will be joined by the 50-strong church choir.

Exeter Philharmonic Choir celebrates the beginning of summer with a programme of thrilling pieces in the wonderful acoustics of The Mint Methodist Church under the baton of their director, Andrew Millington. The programme includes the much-loved Gloria by Vivaldi, Handel's Chandos Athem with its echoes of the famous Zadok The Priest and the less familiar setting of the Magnificat by Pergolesi.
