Work underway on new junction

Work has started on the next junction to be developed as part of the infrastructure development on the outskirts of Exeter.

The School Access Junction is a new signalised junction off the A379, between the Devon Hotel Roundabout and the existing junction with Chudleigh Road.

It is part of the £55 million infrastructure project to the south west of Exeter which will enable the development of 2,500 homes and employment.

This latest junction will support the construction of a new all-through school including both primary and secondary provision and new homes....

Off-shore recycling scheme launches off Devon coast

A boat with an unusual mission, supported by Exeter’s Coastal Recycling launched off the Salcombe coast.

The boat belongs to an innovative off-shore recycling scheme and social enterprise, Till the Coast is Clear, which aims to reduce the impact of plastic waste on wildlife and the environment of the South West’s coastline.

Matford Landrover pushes up Teenage Cancer Trust funds

A team of staff at Matford Land Rover did 14,000 push-ups before Christmas as part of a “Push up challenge” to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Each of the 11 team members had a daily push up target and they have raised over £600, which will help to support teenagers and young adults whose lives have been turned upside down following a cancer diagnosis.

Stagecoach revamps Park & Ride to create new cross city connection

Stagecoach South West announced today that, starting from 3 January 2017, it is merging its Blue, SR4 (Sowton) and Green (Matford) park and ride services.

This will create a new cross-city connection with the route simply branded as ‘Green’ park and ride. The Red park and ride timetable, serving Honiton Road, will remain unchanged.

The new service will operate up to every 15 minutes, 6 days a week, with the end-to-end journey taking around half an hour.

As well as the park and ride sites, the service will include stops at Middlemoor, Heavitree Shops, Exeter...

Stagecoach announces temporary overflow parking at Matford Park & Ride

Stagecoach South West has announced that additional car parking spaces will be temporarily available at the Matford Park & Ride site across the busy Christmas shopping period and into the New Year.

Opening from Saturday 10 December, the new temporary overflow car park is located on the land formerly occupied by auctioneer Husseys, opposite the main Matford Park & Ride site. The landowner, Exeter City Council, has granted short term use until a new tenant permanently occupies the site.
