Digital jobs fair launched to connect Devon employers with local talent

The government-funded Train4Tomorrow programme is running a Digital Jobs Fair on Wednesday 16 March 2022, to connect employers with local adults who have recently completed a digital bootcamp to gain in-demand skills.

The South West is facing a skills shortage. The rapid growth of the digital sector has led to businesses struggling to find the skilled people they need to meet their demand, and businesses across the region are facing recruitment challenges. All in all a wonderful contemporary festive extravaganza starting Thursday 28th November (5-9pm) during late night shopping in Exeter - we’ll have music, drinks and nibbles to get you in full swing.

We’ll then be there all day Saturday 30th November (10-6pm) and Sunday 1st Dec (10-4pm).

Former Exeter College student makes it into Radio Academy's prestigious 30 under 30

Twenty-two-year old Ashley Jeary from Pinhoe, Exeter has made it in the Radio Academy’s prestigious 30 under 30.

Ashley, who presents Live and Local on weekday evenings and the Afternoon show on Saturdays on 107.3FM Radio Exe, was one of thousands in the running this year and is the only winner from a radio station that is not part of a larger network.

30 under 30 is the Radio Academy’s national “one to watch” programme putting the spotlight on young and talented upcoming professionals from the industry.

Oxjam Exeter has announced some of the artists that will be performing live at venues across Exeter during the Oxjam Exeter Takeover weekend, taking place on 19 and 20 October 2013.

Confirmed artists include:

• Alex Gregory - Nominated for ‘Best Acoustic Act’ at the South West Music Awards.

• Hannah Berney - Starred on the BBC1 show ‘The Voice’

Exeter's Right Honourable Lord Mayor Councillor Rachel Lyons attended a dazzling display of talent by Stage by Stage students on Sunday 14 July at Exeter Corn Exchange.

Stage by Stage is Exeter's independent theatre arts school, and the Mayor was there to present certificates and special prizes to its students.

The gala, which is an annual event, this year also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Stage by Stage and featured musical and dance numbers drawn from the last two decades of shows which have been performed by the school in the city and around the UK....
