Mary Harold, a silk screen printer who lives near Okehampton, is exhibiting her work at A la Ronde from Thursday 22 May to Wednesday 4 June 2014.

Often printing onto reclaimed materials such as blankets, tablecloths and sheets, she says of her work: “My inspiration mostly comes from nature, usually my garden or the wild countryside around where I live. A la Ronde is delighted to be hosting an exhibition of Mick Abbott’s paintings, many of which were inspired by items within the A la Ronde collection.

Mick Abbott is a full time artist, dividing his time between Cambridge, Brittany and New York. He was an art teacher at Comberton Village College, Cambridge for 22 years and loved it. Free-range felters – it’s a family affair at A la Ronde

A talented local mother and her two daughters are currently exhibiting an unusual range of paintings, prints and felted items at A la Ronde, near Exmouth. The family of artists – Daphne Currier, Louisa Currier and Josephine Birch – work both together and individually to celebrate the natural environment.

Daphne Currier (BA Art/Ed) works mainly in felt to make pictures, wall hangings, cushions, hats, bags and accessories. Daphne says: ‘My work is embellished with hand and machine stitching and some elements of collage. Felt work is becoming more popular as a versatile and durable...
