Valuable jewellery taken in Exeter burglary

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Whitestone, Exeter. The incident took place between 8.30am and 4.05pm on Tuesday 26 February 2013.

Jewellery worth around £10,000 was taken, including wedding and engagement rings, necklaces, watches, cufflinks and earrings. Some of the items date back to the early 1900s.

A number of other items were taken including cash, purses and a mobile phone. The property was entered through the garage and a doubled glazed window after the suspects forced entry.

Distinctive jewellery stolen from Sidmouth home

Police are hunting for burglars who broke into a Sidmouth home and stole thousands of pounds worth of distinctive jewellery. The homeowners returned home on 10th January to find their Sid Lane property had been broken into and the safe stolen.

The offenders got inside the house by carefully removing a ground floor window and ripping out all of the alarm boxes. A tidy search was made throughout the property before the offenders escaped with a safe from the main bedroom.

Local woman to host event for unique jewellery

A woman from Exmouth is organising an open evening event in Exeter to present her creative collection of jewellery.

Bertie Wooltorton will be displaying her customised jewellery from her business ‘Gili Jewels’ at The Cove on Thursday 7th March from 2pm-7pm.

She was inspired to set up her own business and create jewellery after visiting the Gili Islands, near Indonesia in 2007.

Haul of jewellery recovered by officers in Exeter

Police are asking the public to come forward to help identify a haul of jewellery recovered by officers in Exeter.

Officers believe the numerous items of jewellery – including distinctive rings and watches – may have been stolen during burglaries or thefts in Devon and Cornwall or further afield.

The appeal follows the arrest of a 57-year-old Exeter man in July in connection with handling stolen goods.

Exeter police are urging anyone who recognises the items to come forward and contact them.
