On Friday 11 April, Casa Maroc in Exeter will be laying on a special menu for Headway Devon in their function room.

For just £10 each, you will be able to enjoy a three-course meal in the lavishly decorated Casablanca Lounge.

An exclusive audience with Lord Julian Fellowes, creator of popular drama series Downton Abbey and sponsored by Brewin Dolphin Exeter office held at Gidleigh Park raised £23,000 for Families for Children Adoption Agency.

67 guests enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a lively and entertaining Q&A session with the revered actor at this intimate fundraiser organised by Westcountry businessman John Casson.

On Thursday 10 October a charity dinner, organised by The John Casson Foundation, took place in aid of South West adoption agency Families for Children. 70 guests attended the sell-out event at Gidleigh Park, generously sponsored by wealth Management Company Brewin Dolphin Exeter and independent wine merchant Private Cellar raising £23,000 for the charity.

Record entry announced for charity swim

Organisers of the 8th Topsham-Turf swim are celebrating the annual event’s biggest number of participants, who are estimated to have raised over £8,000 so far with more sponsorship to be added over the coming weeks for a local charity.

The event, which has been staged by the Estuary League of Friends since 2005 and is now supported by Michelmores Solicitors, witnessed 133 swimmers start the mile long swim on Saturday 17 August at Topsham Ferryman’s Slipway on their way to the Turf Hotel.

Competitive Cynthia set for Starlight Walk’s new route

More than 100 women have already signed up to take part in this year’s Starlight Walk for Hospiscare, which has a new 12k route along Exmouth’s seafront and beautiful countryside.

The walk is back for one night only taking place on Saturday May 11. The Hospiscare ladies walk usually takes place on two nights with one walk in Tiverton and one in Exmouth.

But Hospiscare has combined the walks to one venue for 2013 to maximise the amount of money raised.

Exmouth RNLI SOS day raised over £2,500

£2,590.47 was the total raised from the Exmouth RNLI SOS Day event, Six On Saddles. Held on Sunday 20 January, six volunteers from the lifeboat and shore crew cycled the Exe estuary to raise money towards the launch and recovery vehicle for the Shannon-class lifeboat expected in early 2014.
