FORCE and Exeter Family Friendly celebrate successful year

Staff members from FORCE Cancer Charity and Exeter Family Friendly came together on Tuesday to toast a hugely successful 12 months, during which Exeter Family has raised £5,500 for their chosen charity of the year.

Exeter Family, who recently won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Exeter Business Awards, raised the majority of the money through staff taking part in daring and dedicated activities, including the Rock Solid Race; a gruelling 5 and 10km obstacle race, a sponsored walk, 100 mile bike ride and supermarket collections.

Exeter cancer charity calls for more runners

Organisers of the fourth Force/Francis Clark 10k Race at Powderham Castle have called for more runners to sign up for the annual event in a bid to break previous entry records and boost fundraising.

The event has grown considerably since the first race in 2010 and now features a 5k run and a 2k family run as well as 5k & 10k mountain bike rides around one of the most picturesque routes any runner or rider could wish for, taking in the Castle, the Exe Estuary, extensive woodland and the deer park.

Law firm saddles up for cancer charity's bike ride

Members of Devon law firm, Gilbert Stephens LLP, are taking to the saddle for FORCE’s Century Cycle Challenge, which takes place on Sunday 30 June from Topsham Rugby Club.

The event offers either a 55- or 100-mile cycle from Topsham Rugby Club to Tiverton. The 100-mile ride heads up to Dulverton and over the top of Exmoor, down to South Molton and then meets up with the 55-mile cyclists. Participants then head across country to Morchard Road and back to Topsham via Crediton.

Haines Watts fundraiser in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity

More than 70 local businesses and professionals were welcomed with wine and canapés at a networking event organised by Chartered Accountants Haines Watts in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity at Sapphire Living Space.

Guests enjoyed complimentary hand massages with Molton Brown and watched cookery demonstrations by Chef Nick Crosley from V-Zug of Switzerland. Sarah Daniels of FORCE gave a presentation and a charity raffle and lively auction with Chris Bentley of Exeter Chiefs raised over £1,600 for the charity.

Celebrities donate to EBay auction in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity

FORCE supporter Gary Moore has organised an online auction on EBay to raise money for the charity.

Gary will be auctioning many fantastic items - donated by celebrities and sports clubs. The auction goes live on 15 April and will run for seven days, ending on 22 April.

The donations consist of items from Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Dame Judi Dench, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Wayne Rooney, Mo Farah, David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Liverpool FC, Celtic FC, Somerset Cricket Club - plus many more, including Devon’s very own Exeter City Football Club and Exeter Chiefs Rugby...

FORCE Nello cycle ride has big target for 2026

Around 1,000 cyclists are gearing up for one of the region’s most popular charity cycle events with a mission to support more Devon families affected by cancer.

FORCE Cancer Charity’s Nello ride is on Sunday June 28, starting and finishing at Topsham Rugby Club.

It has raised around £1.5 million since it was established in memory of Topsham restaurateur Nello Ghezzo in 2000.

That money supports people across the county – patients and their loved ones – dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Nello cyclists have special reasons for taking part

FORCE Cancer Charity’s largest annual fundraiser – The Nello bike ride – is less than two months away and cyclists from across Devon and around the country are gearing up for the big day on Sunday June 28.

Since the first Nello Century Cycle Challenge in 2000, the ride has raised £1.5million for Exeter-based FORCE, which works locally to support anyone affected by cancer, face-to-face and close to home.

The charity has set a target of raising £127,500 from Nello 2026 to meet the increasing demand for its unique services.

Fantastic Fez fundraising for FORCE

The Fez fundraising phenomenon continues to go from strength to strength and has now raised a staggering £55,000 for FORCE since the campaign was launched on May 28 2014.

The latest boost to the fund has come from the Devon Rugby Legends Tag Feztival with the organisers handing over a cheque for £12,200.
