August was a rainy month for tourists and locals. There was one upside to the downpours however; the wet weather has made for a bumper crop of apples in the National Trust orchards at Killerton and the trees are heavy with fruit ready to be made into cider.

A resurgence in the popularity of folk music, song, dance and crafts resulted in record crowds attending the 38th Dartmoor Folk Festival at the weekend.
Local and national artists entertained audiences at the event held at South Zeal, near Okehampton.

Our Christmas Tree Festival this year will take place from Thursday 3 December – Sunday 6 December. Opening hours will be 11am – 6pm (Thurs & Fri). 10.30am – 7pm (Sat) and 2 – 5pm (Sun).
