Help save your coast

There’s nothing quite like a great British picnic by the sea. We all have fond childhood memories of days out at the seaside; that heady combination of sun, sand and sea along with a dollop of ice-cream sandy sandwiches and hours of endless fun. What better way to celebrate 50 years of public support for protecting our precious coastline, than by attending one of the Big Beach Picnic’s taking place in the South West on Saturday 4th July 2015.

A highlight of the 2015 South West Coastal Festival programme, at this free event, organisers want as many people as possible to join in the...

Velo Vintage returns to Exmouth

It seems hard to believe that it is a year since Velo Vintage was last in Exmouth.

Since then they have held their unique cycle events in Exeter and also in the north of the county in Barnstaple, but Exmouth has always felt like the home of Velo Vintage and where the first Occasion & Ride took place.

Rumour has it that this next event on Saturday 13 June, which is the eighth, is going to be rather different and as well including many of the excellent cycle paths, they will also be spending some time relaxing over a picnic and watching some cricket, all very British. The...

Half term fun at Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral is organising three family craft sessions during the May half term holidays, together with the chance for children to borrow one of our free Explorer Backpacks and discover the Cathedral for themselves.

The activities, which are being organised by the Cathedral’s specialist education team, include brass rubbing, badge making, and a whole morning discovering the world of knights and dragons! There’s also a special opportunity to make your own ink and paint to use to create your own medieval manuscript!

Exeter residents can apply for a free admission pass (...
