Family event celebrates all that is great about Britain

STUNNING manor house Bridwell Park will be opening its doors to the public this September, as part of a two-day family event to celebrate all that is great about the UK.

The Great British Day Out, which will feature music, entertainment, stalls and even survival workshops, will be taking place at the stately home in Uffculme over the weekend of September 17 and 18.

It is the first time in its 240-year history that the Georgian property, which is the family home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten, has opened its doors to the public for an event of this kind.

Single parents in our family history & now: making a living and making it work

I have been a keen family historian for over 10 years. I also coordinate the ‘Exeter Single Parent Family Friendship Group (Exeter Gingerbread)’. Since becoming a single parent two years ago I have developed a connection with the single parents in my family tree.
