Twenty-nine people are a step closer to entering the workplace thanks to a People Fair held by Prospects, the education, employment and skills company, and Westward Pathfinder on 17 September in Torquay.
The People Fair concept was developed by Prospects to bring together employers with jobseekers on the Work Programme. Prospects is a prime contractor for the Work Programme in the South West supporting people who are furthest from the job market and have been long term unemployed. Come and join us in the beautiful village of Branscombe for our first ever Harvest Fair! We will be holding a village show, with 80 competition classes covering baking, preserves, homebrew, fruit & veg, flowers, art, crafts, children's – things could get pretty serious! As part of this we are resurrecting the village tradition of an apple pie contest, to be judged by a local expert.
There will also be a family dog show, arena events including a tug-of-war, a wellbeing area, stalls, crafts, vintage tractors, animal encounters with Peak Hill Llamas, games (welly wanging, skittles...
