Planning application for new water sports centre on Exmouth seafront to be considered

A planning application for a new water sports centre on Exmouth seafront will be considered by East Devon District Council’s Development Management Committee next month.

The application from Grenadier Exmouth Ltd to build the centre and associated facilities off Queen’s Drive, will go before the committee on Tuesday 5 June.

Grenadier proposes a new two-storey water sports centre, café, restaurant and retail units plus car parking, open space and a ramped access to the beach. The application has the support of Exmouth Town Council and there are 37 letters of objection....

Summer is beckoning and so are those jobs in your garden - so why not sign up to East Devon’s fortnightly green waste collection service and save yourself the journey to your local recycling centre.

More than 6,000 district council households have already subscribed to the new kerbside collections which will make life so much easier for our green fingered residents to dispose of their green waste.

Police appeal after attempted child abduction in Exmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a mother and young girl were approached by a suspicious man on Exeter Road this morning, Wednesday 2 May 2018.

The incident took place at around 9am when a mother was walking to school with her daughter. The girl had walked a short distance ahead of her mother and was then approached by the unknown man who tried to pull her towards a vehicle. The mother was alerted and confronted the man who advised he was trying to take the child back to her mother.

Shopping for a friend’s birthday present at Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter generated a lovely surprise for the giver – a new vehicle worth nearly £24,000.
