New proposal for temporary bus station solution announced

Exeter City Council is consulting on more temporary solutions for buses in the city centre for when the new bus station is built.

The Triangle Car Park has been considered as a temporary solution for an 18 month period. However the City Council said today that, after consultation, feedback and further consideration, it is looking at the option of putting temporary bus stands in Sidwell Street.

Sensory walk and activity day in Exeter

Sense, the national deafblind charity, hosted a 4 km sensory walk and activity day in Exeter on Friday 24 June to celebrate Deafblind Awareness Week. Parade in Exeter to mark Armed Forces Day

As in previous years, Exeter City Council will be marking Armed Forces Day on Saturday 2 July with a parade through the High Street.

Crackdown on beach hut crime in East Devon

East Devon District Council’s StreetScene team is taking positive steps towards cracking down on criminal damage to beach huts by proactively working with officers from the Seaton Neighbourhood Policing Team to inform beach hut owners on different ways to protect their huts.

A meeting has already taken place on 6 June 2016 between beach hut owners and StreetScene’s Tim Harris, together with PCSOs Mike McGauley and Chris Bolsover on the Esplanade in Seaton.

The Donkey Sanctuary’s Car Show in Sidmouth is back on Sunday 3 July from 10am to 2pm, and it’s bigger than ever.

After the success of the first Car Show in 2015, The Donkey Sanctuary is pleased to announce that they will be running another show in July! At last year’s show they were host to over 300 fantastic cars from humble Austins to exotic Lamborghinis and this year’s show is set to be even better.

Crown Estate announces record profit

Leading UK real estate business, The Crown Estate, which jointly owns Princesshay in Exeter with TH Real Estate, has today (28 June 2016) announced another record income return of £304.1m to Treasury for the public finances, up 6.7% on 2015. Overall performance was significantly ahead of the market, with a total return of 17.2% against an IPD universe benchmark of 11.3% and a bespoke benchmark of 13.1%.
