Exeter Phoenix’s annual short film festival, Two Short Nights, brought flocks of filmmakers, viewers and industry professionals to the city last week for a celebration of short film. Now in its sixteenth year, the festival featured more unmissable opportunities for emerging filmmakers alongside an extraordinary range and diversity of screenings for film fans than ever before, with a bumper two and a half days of cinema screenings, workshops and panel discussions. Local charity Hospiscare is delighted to announce that Rob Baxter, Director of Rugby at Exeter Chiefs, will be the guest speaker at their fundraising dinner on 4th April 2018 at the University of Exeter.

This unique evening will feature a talk from Rob on ‘Maximising Potential’, during which he will explain how the principles used to improve results on the rugby pitch can also be used to improve results in the workplace. Tech companies celebrate the Best of the West

Tech companies from across the region came together to celebrate and showcase the sector at a ‘Best of the West’ Tech South West event in Devon.

Held at Rockbeare Manor near Exeter Airport on Tuesday November 28, the event gave established and emerging tech companies from across the South West a platform to share their success stories with the tech community.

Enjoy free cream tea at historic mill thanks to National Lottery!

One of Exeter’s historic attractions is opening its doors to visitors for free tours and cream teas.

Cricklepit Mill is the venue for the event which takes place between 10am and 12 noon on Friday 15 December. The historic watermill is home to the charity Devon Wildlife Trust and is located on Commercial Road close to the city’s Quay.

There are many myths surrounding hospices, one of the biggest misconceptions is that if you get admitted to one, it’s because you are about to die. That’s certainly the impression Bronia Rosier and her family had when she was referred to local charity, Hospiscare.

Bronia, 56, from Ottery St Mary, was diagnosed with a tumour two years ago. After a course of chemo and radiotherapy which was unsuccessful in shrinking the growth, she underwent surgery to remove it.
