An evening of fantastic romantic melodies begins with the lyrical Adagio from Spartacus, used in many a love scene and famously in The Onedin Line, before moving on to the Piano Concerto with its much-loved soulful slow movement. The brilliant finale features one of the most popular works by the master of melody, Tchaikovsky.

Two researchers from the University of Exeter put elf before beauty to prepare to cycle 350 miles from London to Paris for the charity Alzheimer’s Society.

Drs Mark Tarrant and David Llewellyn launched their fundraising bid in full festive style, as they burned off the mince pies through starting their training for the epic cycle challenge.

Dr Llewellyn knows how tough preparation can be. He had planned to join a team of six dementia researchers on the ride last summer – but had to withdraw after breaking his wrist when he fell off his bike during training.

As part of its ongoing celebration of 50 years in business, Tiverton-based high-quality sign makers, Ken White Signs (KWS), has given away an array of bespoke marketing material to charities, independent retailers and schools, throughout Devon, as well organising a ‘Gold Pant Mile’ fun-run, raising just over £3,000 for CLIC Sargent. Over £30,000 raised by police force to benefit charities

Over the last three years, officers and staff across Devon & Cornwall Police have participated in and organised fundraising activities which have benefitted both local and national charities.

The funds, now totalling over £30,000, were raised in a wide variety of ways, from the purchase of epaulettes, to charity bake sales and even a ‘guess the weight of the ferret’ competition. This is, of course, only part of the charitable endeavours of colleagues who both on and off duty raise huge sums for local and national charities.

The world dad-dancing champion is sharing his most embarrassing moves this festive season, for use by parents everywhere.

Headway Devon Joins “Friends Against Scams” Scheme

Local brain injury charity Headway Devon is proud to have joined a national scheme that aims to prevent people falling victim to scams.

Friends Against Scams is an initiative run by National Trading Standards which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering communities to "Take a Stand Against Scams".
