Preparations for one of the South West’s largest exhibitions, the Rathbones Exeter Art Show hosted at the Maynard School, are gaining pace with well over 100 nationally and locally acclaimed artists signed up already.

Commercial interest in the Show, which will take place over the weekend of 21-22 April 2018, has been enormous this year with several companies coming on board to offer support. So far, these include Rathbones Investment Management, Knight Frank, Darts Farm, Foot Anstey and The Exeter.

Sarah Tobey, the regional director of the Rathbones’ Exeter office said, “We are thrilled to be supporting the Exeter Art Show which promotes artists from across the UK and gives them the opportunity to showcase their work whilst, at the same time, raising funds for YoungMinds which is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.”

In a first for this truly popular exhibition, the organisers at the Maynard School have confirmed that 100% of the commission from any sale of the artworks, in previous years totalling over £12,000, will be donated to their charity. “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the supported charity for The Exeter Art Show at the Maynard School for 2018. Over the past five years, the show has grown to become the prestigious event that it is today, which we are honoured to be a part of,” said Diane Gault, the Director of Fundraising at YoungMinds. “We are very grateful for the generosity of the co-ordinators who will be donating all of the profits from the Show. This generous act will help us to continue our vital work improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people across the UK.”

Entry to the Rathbones Exeter Art Show is entirely free and there will be well over 500 exhibits ranging in price from £10 to £10,000, all available for purchase.
“We are determined to make this the biggest and best yet,” said organiser, Helen Reynolds. “I’ve been sourcing artists for weeks now and the response has been totally incredible. When I tell them who we are fundraising for, they all want to play their part and I’ve been overwhelmed by so much support for YoungMinds. Every day I am being approached by artists asking to exhibit and I can honestly say this Show will most certainly offer the greatest variety to suit every pocket and taste. It really is very exciting!”
