PCE purchases new premises to accommodate expansion

Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) has purchased new premises in Exeter to accommodate its economic trend-bucking business growth.

The new much larger site in Bittern Road is a short journey from the two-way radio and in-vehicle communications specialist’s current premises in Osprey Road, also on the Sowton Industrial Estate.

Boy airlifted to hospital after colliding with a car on Alphington Road

Update 23 June: Exeter Police report have provided further details on the collision that occurred at approximately 5pm on Saturday 22 June 2013 between a Nissan Skyline and a 12-year-old boy on his bicycle on Alphington Road.

A police spokesman said: "The Nissan Skyline, driven by a 29-year-old local man, was travelling outbound from the city centre towards the Marsh Barton turning. The bicycle ridden by a 12-year-old local boy was using the dedicated cycle lane and was also heading outbound in the same direction as the Nissan.

Exeter residents dusting off their 'dancing' trainers for Cancer Research UK

Next Sunday, 30 brave participants from Exeter and beyond, will be dusting off their trainers and perfecting their shimmying at 'The Ultimate Danceathon' for Cancer Research UK. Three local instructors will be joining forces to deliver three hours of dance fitness. Included in the day will be the ever-popular 'Zumba', up-and-coming Bollywood fitness sensation 'Just Jhoom!', and 'Swagga Fit'; a fantastic new workout developed by the local 'Vibes Dance Company'!

Overbeck’s first Artist in Residence

Overbeck’s, the exotic garden perched high on the cliffs above Salcombe, has its first ever Artist in Residence – local illustrator Charlotte Atkinson.

Charlotte has set up her studio in a small outdoor building within the sheltered Banana Garden, home to some of Overbeck’s most tender tropic plants. She will be documenting a full year in the garden, from this summer to next, capturing and preserving the plants, flowers and vistas as they change through the seasons. These works will be exhibited at Overbeck’s for all to see.

The Stuart Singers from Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire (former home of Rachel Lyons, the new Lord Mayor of Exeter) are coming to Exeter on Friday 28 June to perform a concert in aid of the Ryan Edwards Cancer Treatment appeal.
