Teignbridge District Council has been given £100,000 to help self-builders get their projects off the ground.

The money will allow Teignbridge to continue its great work in bringing shovel-ready sites and help people secure a suitable plot of land so they can design and build their own home.

A high-energy and eclectic eight-piece, combining fiddle, banjo, mandolin, accordian and guitars with knockout four-part harmonies. You could call it Americana, country-folk, folk-pop or even urban bluegrass, but it’s difficult to do justice to the sheer range of styles this band is willing to take on and, if necessary, transform.
Their live shows are exuberant, accomplished, stirring and funny, mixing country-fried heartbreakers, belting anthems and foot-stomping singlaongs. They’ve been a firm favourite on the festival circuit since forming in 2009, and have been playing to sell-...

With a unique voice that’s equal parts choirboy and soul boy, Andrew Montgomery made celestial waves in the Britpop era as frontman of Scottish band Geneva. Avoiding the laddish clichés of the era and aiming squarely at the sublime, Geneva scored four emotive Top 40 singles and two critically adored albums.
Since then, his seraphic three-octave voice has been criminally silent. But no more. On 5th October 2014, Andrew Montgomery releases his début solo album Ruled By Dreams.
Ruled By Dreams is a rich, swooning suite of space gospel music, pairing astonishing vocals, woozy...

Duelling fiddles, soaring brass crescendos, and irresistible grooves, their new show charts their remarkable journey from ballet school basement jam sessions and cowshed rehearsals, to remote lighthouses, to headline appearances at international festivals.
The Old Dance School takes it’s name from the old Betty Fox School of Ballet in Birmingham, then legendary jam session venue, where the band first formed in 2006. Championed by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, the...
