The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is currently consulting local people on its draft proposals for new ward boundaries across Exeter. The consultation closes on 10 August 2015. The Commission’s draft recommendations propose that Exeter City Council should have 39 councillors in the future: one fewer than the current arrangement. Max Caller, Chair of the Commission, said: “We are asking local...
“Hon, I’m not so sure that I’m in the right place? Am I meant to be parked up in a field?”
Hey, it was a fair enough text. I mean it’s not every day you accept an invite to a Tuesday night gig to watch a band billed as ‘the next big thing” and then find yourself on a farm in the middle of nowhere.
But sure enough, my fab friend Hannah was indeed parked up in the right place; a field in the grounds of the stunning Eggbeer Farm and the brand new location for The Loft Barbers Live Sessions.
Booking London-based Hunter and the Bear, for this gig, had prompted the search...

We’re going cake crazy as we prepare for the Big Devon Bake Off – cakes are being found all over the Exeter hospice!
Whilst strolling in the garden our Hospiscare chaplain Nigel found two cakes tucked in a tree, housekeeper Wendy found them everywhere, ward secretary Denise discovered her desk smothered in creamy cupcakes, as did receptionist Sharon.
Hospiscare patient Lily who was having a cuppa in the day centre, was surprised to discover cakes had suddenly appeared on her chair, even the goldfish bowl in reception did not escape.
It’s all in the view. Luscombe Maye Estate Agency reveals that South West waterside properties are continuing to dominate the region’s property market, selling on average up to one month faster than those in urban or inland locations, according to its sales data from the past year.
Experts at Luscombe Maye state that both quantity and quality of a sea view play a vital part in the lure of South West waterside properties, potentially adding between £50,000 and £200,000 to a property’s value.
Direct beach access, picture windows, private balconies and patios are just some of...
