Oxjam Exeter tickets on sale

Oxjam Exeter Takeover is delighted to announce tickets are now on sale. This year the main event is being held at Exeter Castle who is also hosting their own Exeter Castle Festival of Rugby. It means that Exeter music and rugby fans can be raising money for Oxfam, whilst enjoying Rugby World Cup Games on a large screen and an eclectic mix of Devon’s emerging, musical talent performing on the main stage.

Concern over missing Exeter man

Police are very concerned for the whereabouts of a 60-year-old man from Exeter.

Richard Beattie was last seen on Wednesday 9 September having left his accommodation in Alphington with no personal property.

Richard is described as 5ft 10ins tall, grey short thinning hair and of slight build. He was formerly in the Royal Navy and has spent most of his more recent life living in the Newton Abbot area.

He may frequent pubs or other licensed premises.

Cycling trio raise £1,408 for Exeter charity

Three local men have completed the challenge of a lifetime by cycling the length of the country to raise funds for Exeter charity Rainbow Living’s third Rainbow house.

Over 13 days, Duncan, Will and Jools spent an average of eight hours a day in the saddle cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End. The trio braved torrential rain, lashing winds, and mile after mile of vertical ascent followed by steep slippery descents. Herds of cows, flocks of sheep, punctures, saddle sores and overall tiredness may have slowed them down, but they were not deterred during their 1,000 mile journey...

Refugee rally attracts 600 supporters

Six hundred people gathered outside Exeter Cathedral this Saturday 12th September, in response to the escalating European refugee crisis. The shocking pictures of children dying in the Mediterranean, and reports of treacherous journeys being undertaken to escape war and persecution, stirred the hearts and minds of the people of Exeter to help.
