Exeter was wowed by a parade of colour, rugby, music and creativity this past weekend.
Huge crowds gathered for The Exeter Five Nations Parade. A parade that snaked through the city from Cathedral Green to the Fanzone on Saturday 10 October to celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2015 and the culture of the nations based in the host city of Exeter.
The parade was awash with eye-popping amazing costumes, bears, Vespa’s, magical musicians and giant pizzas hats. Not to mention a giant revolving turtle dove.

Exeter’s Great West Run will be taking place on Sunday 18th October 2015.
This established half marathon is an annual fixture in the city’s calendar, and expects to attract around 4,000 runners, many of whom are fundraising for local and national charities. Using the city’s streets for the race will cause changes to usual traffic routes for a limited period on Sunday 18th October.

A £100 million investment and further growth will be unlocked at Exeter Science Park, thanks to additional funding provided by Devon County Council.
The County Council’s Cabinet today (Wednesday 14 October) agreed to use the remainder of a £2.5 million funding package to develop vital infrastructure at the Science Park. It is using Growth Deal Funding awarded from the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership in April.

A Devon holiday park is set to open its doors all year round, launching a new pool membership as a thank you to local residents.
For the first time in its 73-year history, Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, will open its swimming pool complex from November to March.
The redeveloped complex, including a main pool, children’s zone, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym and poolside café, will open at the family run park, which first saw campers pitch up in 1943.

The awards lunch at Nomura Bank in London celebrated and rewarded the achievements of people involved in the Chance to Shine Schools programme.

Devon’s Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) claimants increased by 56 claimants between August and September 2015 to 3,297 claimants in total.
