Local McDonald's franchisee partners with CEDA

McDonald’s franchisee, David Shawyer, who owns and operates four restaurants in the Exeter and Exmouth area, has just announced his partnership with CEDA (Community, Equality, Disability Action), an independent registered charity who provide learning and social opportunities for disabled people in Devon.

To celebrate David’s new partnership, on Tuesday 14th March he hosted a VIP event at his Exeter High Street restaurant whereby CEDA young people had exclusive use of the restaurant and received a meal from McDonald’s.

MORE than 150 businesses in Exeter have now signed up to Exeter’s Safety of Women at Night (SWaN) Charter and committed to keeping people safer when they spend time in this fantastic city.

Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter was delighted to welcome some very special feathered visitors for the day recently, when some magnificent birds of prey came to visit.

Residents were given the opportunity to get up close to the impressive birds, along with learning more about the history and characteristics of the different breeds, as part of a very special animal therapy session.

Honiton to welcome pioneering boatbuilders working on the UK’s first electric workboat

A pioneering boatbuilding firm is relocating to East Devon to manufacture components for the UK’s first fully electric workboat and charging station, in a move which will secure 30 local jobs.

Coastal Workboats Limited (CWL) will be building their new HQ and advanced manufacturing site at Honiton’s Heathpark Industrial Estate. Exeter divorce rate nears 11%

Over one in 10 Exeter adults have seen their marriage end in divorce, a new study has revealed.

New statistics from the ONS show that 10.73% of over 16s have divorced from their husband or wife.

The rate is above the national average, while 38.9% of Exeter residents have never married and 42.5% are currently married or in a civil partnership.

Exeter residents take on chilly charity challenge

Over forty individuals slept out at St James Park, home of Exeter City Football Club to raise money and awareness for a local charity on Friday 17th March.

Families and friends ditched their beds and spent a night under the stars to raise funds for Julian House. The charity supports over 1,600 people in over 40 projects across the South-West who are facing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, refugees and more.
