Science Park strengthens team with new appointments

Exeter Science Park has further strengthened its management team with new appointments and promotions.

The appointments have been made across a number of areas of the organisation.

Matt Roach has joined Exeter Science Park as Head of Operations. Chartered accountant, Matt, who was formerly managing director of Exeter Airport for nine years, will be a key member of the science park’s leadership team. Exeter Science Park has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of Carrie Piper as Head of Finance and Support Services.

Exeter Science Park has marked the official opening of its £5 million George Parker Bidder building, built to net zero carbon standards and supporting over 100 jobs, with a ceremonial tree planting.

Zeal submits planning for sustainable hotel at Exeter Science Park

Zeal Hotels has submitted plans to East Devon District Council to develop a sustainable hotel at Exeter Science Park under its own brand.

The 142-room hotel will be the first of a number of sustainable hotels Zeal Hotels plans to open around the UK.

The development, which is backed by a private investor, will be operated by a third-party management company. Confirmation of the hotel’s operator is expected within the next two months.

Council backs construction of park and change site at Exeter Science Park

Councillors have given the go ahead for a "park and change" site to be built on the outskirts of Exeter.

Devon County Council’s Cabinet approved the construction of the £2.2 million scheme to the east of Exeter Science Park on Wednesday (11 December).

The site aims to relieve traffic congestion on the A30 Honiton Road and Moor Lane roundabout, enabling drivers to park on the edge of the city and then switch to sustainable forms of transport - bus, bicycle or car share – for their journey into the city.

East Devon District Council’s Cabinet last night agreed to invest £1.1m in the development of a new Open Innovation Building at Exeter Science Park, in the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone.

The investment will bring forward 20,000 square feet of space under one roof for growing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) sectors.

Board of Exeter Science Park has announced the appointment of Dr Sally Basker as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
