Chiefs get their teeth into fundraising burgers!

Members of the Exeter Chiefs squad have already been showing their support to the Exeter Foundation, which is set to benefit every time someone tucks into a specially-made ‘Chiefs Burger’ at Urban Burger in the City Centre.

In a new incentive thought up by Urban Burger owner Garth and Melissa Pearse, the Foundation will benefit to the tune of 50p each time a customer orders the mouth-watering Chiefs Burger, which is made up of two 6oz prime Red Ruby Devon beef patties, bacon, fried onions, mayo and two slices of American cheese.

Whitehead thanks fans for support from hospital bed

Exeter Chiefs forward Chris Whitehead was tonight recovering in hospital after an operation on his neck which could sideline him for three months.

The 26-year-old was hoping to be discharged tomorrow after an assessment by doctors.

Speaking exclusively to The Exeter Daily from his hospital bed, Whitehead said he had been overwhelmed with messages of support.

He told us: "I'd like to thank the players old and new and, of course, the fans for all of their good luck messages, it has made this experience a lot easier.

"I'm very happy to have had the operation...

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has confirmed that hooker Chris Whitehead is likely to miss the next three months as he looks to cure an on-going neck issue. The 26-year-old forward, who recently penned a new two-year contract with the Aviva Premiership club, is due to undergo surgery later this week. Baxter said: "Chris has a relatively serious injury and is going to have an operation on Tuesday, and he is going to be out for ten to 12 weeks. The European escapades of the Exeter Chiefs hit new heights in Wales as Rob Baxter’s side claimed their maiden Heineken Cup victory against the Scarlets.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter is hopeful of completing the signing of Fijian international Watisoni Votu within the next week.

The Aviva Premiership club have been pursuing the 27-year-old back for much of the current season, but a drawn out visa application has meant his arrival at Sandy Park has been delayed.

Exeter Chiefs maybe set for a two-week break from the Aviva Premiership, but full-back Luke Arscott insists he and his team-mates have no intention of letting their winning streak fall by the wayside.
