Head coach Rob Baxter was happy to salute his side’s latest Aviva Premiership victory over London Wasps, but he still believes his Exeter Chiefs side have yet to hit top form this season, writes Mark Stevens.

The Chiefs maintained their unbeaten home record in the top flight as they overcame Wasps 30-23 at Sandy Park thanks to tries from Chris Whitehead, Haydn Thomas and Phil Dollman, as well as 15 points from the boot of leading points -scorer Gareth Steenson.

Exeter’s win – their sixth in the Premiership this term – not only helped lift the Chiefs back into the division’s...

Rob Baxter’s side made it a perfect five from five at home in the Aviva Premiership as they overcame visiting London Wasps at Sandy Park.

The Westcountry’s finest moved into the top five courtesy of tries from Chris Whitehead, Haydn Thomas and Phil Dollman; whilst fly-half Gareth Steenson weighed in with the remainder of the Devon side’s points. For Wasps, it meant yet more misery for Londoners on Devon soil – they have now lost all three previous encounters at Sandy Park – and all they could muster was a losing bonus point courtesy of Tommy Bell’s late penalty. Fresh from their first...

Exeter Chiefs put their unbeaten home record in the Aviva Premiership on the line tomorrow when they play host to London Wasps in the day's late kick-off (5.30pm).

Having seen off Sale Sharks, Saracens, Harlequins and Worcester Warriors at Sandy Park this term, Exeter's assistant coach Ali Hepher wants his side to at least replicate those displays against a much-improved Wasps line-up.

Whereas last season's Dai Young's side spent much of the campaign fighting relegation with Newcastle Falcons, this time round the Wycombe-based outfit appear to be much improved and last...

Dean Mumm insists Exeter Chiefs can expect a formidable test when they welcome London Wasps to Devon this Saturday in the Aviva Premiership (5.30pm).

Like many at Sandy Park, the experienced Australian international clearly noted the display put in by Dai Young's side a week ago as they overcame Leicester Tigers 14-12 to record their fourth top flight win of the season.

The same day, however, the Chiefs were also in winning form as they recorded their first Premiership away scalp of the 2012/13 season with a maiden 27-23 success at London Irish.

It was a victory...

It wasn’t pretty, in fact it was downright ugly at times, but Exeter Chiefs have finally put to bed their Madejski monkey, writes Mark Stevens.

Having come unstuck on two previous visits to the impressive Reading venue, Rob Baxter’s men dug deep to not only see off hosts London Irish in a keenly contested affair, but at the same time the victory ensured they were also able to claim their first win on the road in this season’s Aviva Premiership.

In a stunning opening to the contest, the Devon visitors led 21-3 thanks to tries from Luke Arscott and Phil Dollman, plus the boot...

Exeter Chiefs return to Aviva Premiership action this weekend with head coach Rob Baxter calling on his side to "show their ambition" at the Madejski Stadium.

After a solid enough opening in the top flight, the Devon club travel to London Irish on Sunday (3pm) looking not only to maintain their pace with the division's frontrunners, but at the same time collect their first away in the Premiership this term.

So far Baxter's side have been impervious on home soil, seeing off the likes of Sale Sharks, Saracens, Harlequins and Worcester Warriors with some notable displays....

It may not have been the same flowing play that had shown a week earlier in Oxford, but Exeter Chiefs were once again triumphant in their latest LV= Cup encounter against the visiting Ospreys, writes Mark Stevens.

The Chiefs moved to top of Pool One – they lead Harlequins on points difference – by overcoming the Welsh region for the second time in the space of a year at Sandy Park.

First half tries from Will Carrick-Smith and Myles Dorrian paved the way for their latest success story, whilst fly-half Henry Slade weighed in with the remainder of their points.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after two of his first team squad this week committed their futures to the club until 2015, wrirtes Mark Stevens.

Hooker and Exeter Daily blogger Chris Whitehead has agreed a two-year extension, whilst young prop Luke Cowan-Dickie – who had another year to run on his academy contract – has also penned new terms with the Aviva Premiership outfit.

Whitehead, 26, joined the Chiefs in 2009 from London Wasps and has since gone on to feature 50 times for the club in all competitions; whilst Cowan-Dickie – who has...
