Night of a Thousand Voices has become a regular fixture in the cathedral’s calendar, celebrating our community and standing together as we hope for a better world for all this festive season.

The evening features stunning performances from some of Devon's best choirs including St Thomas Gospel Choir, River City Chorus, The Lost Sound and Renaissanceas well as a chance for everyone to raise the roof singing some traditional carols.

Hand stitch a festive heart or bird, using beautiful wool fabric. Lovely to decorate the tree or make as a gift. Suitable for all levels of experience.

All materials and equipment will be provided and there will be an opportunity to buy more fabric kits on the day if you become inspired to make some more! Saying goodbye: Exeter Cathedral service for those who have lost babies

Exeter Cathedral will host its second Saying Goodbye service this month, to help parents who have lost babies in pregnancy through miscarriage, still birth or other trauma, and in infancy.

The first such service was held last year in Exeter, and since then 22 services will have been held in other towns and cities.

Andy Clark-Coates established the services with his wife Zoe after the couple lost five children themselves. Andy said: "We have had amazing attendances at services with people who have lost babies last week and last month, sitting next to peoplewho lost 60 years...

Exeter Cathedral offers free entry for city residents

Exeter Cathedral has produced a resident’s card for the first time, offering people living in the city free entry to their Cathedral.

The card covers people living in postcodes EX1 to EX4. Forms will be sent in the post to eligible homes.

The Cathedral has to charge visitors to attempt to cover some of its £4,000 a day running costs, said the Cathedral’s managing director, Alison Davenport, but it is doing all its can to ensure that people in the city and around it can visit for free, as often as they like.

Two Moors Festival: Britten Noye's Flood

The Two Moors Festival is staging a production of Britten's 'Noye's Fludde' that will involve many children from Dartmoor and Exmoor - children whose schools are so remote that they have little chance to take part in professional musical events.

Directed by Thomas Guthrie and with BBC Radio 3's Petroc Trelawny as God, this will be an epic performance in keeping with the Festival's theme of 'Light'. Over a hundred youngsters will be singing and playing animals going into the ark two by two.

City of London Sinfonia: The Faure Requiem Tour

This concert tour celebrates the beauty of our magnificent and awe-inspiring churches, with performances of some of the most well known and uplifting sacred music. Exeter Chamber Choir and AJ's Big Band in a concert of special jazz music in the city's cathedral.

Swinging His Praises is a "Mass for Life". This jazz mass is written by the choir's musical director Andrew Daldorph and features jazz psalms and other songs.

Artist Mark Ware explores 900 years of cathedral history

On 2, 3 and 4 October, Exeter Cathedral will be the setting for a multimedia response to the building's 900 year history and the contributions that craftspeople have made during that time.

900 Years of Light is the culmination of Cathedra 900, an Arts Council England funded project by artist Mark Ware.
