DWP drops Supreme Court appeal over disabled children ‘bedroom tax’

The Department for Work and Pensions has announced that the Secretary of State has decided to drop his pursuit of an appeal at the Supreme Court on a case he had lost at the Court of Appeal.

The case, represented by Child Poverty Action Group, was Richard Gorry v (1) Wiltshire Council (2) Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

Special Olympic Club launches this week

A new Special Olympics club in Exeter will celebrate gaining full accreditation from Special Olympics GB in an official opening this week.

Bob Billson from Special Olympics GB (a provider of year-round sports training and competition programmes for children and adults with intellectual (learning) disabilities) will make the presentation to Special Olympics Exeter & District Club at 7pm at The Stansfield Centre on Falcon Road.
