Snark is now fully open at her berth at Piazza Terracina. The first three weeks have been a great success with over 100 happy diners enjoying our Moorish set dinners and brunches.

For the next two weeks they head to Italy with a four course warming autumnal menu of classic Italian dishes; preserved meats and vegetables, rich pastas, hearty stews and luscious deserts. Mellow Italian wines and English ale sold over the bar.

They also have a number of special winter festival meals planned over the next two months as well as some pop-up special dinners on Wednesday evenings...

It’s no secret that the hospitality sector is facing something of a recruitment crisis.

A combination of Brexit and the pandemic have led to a dearth of staff who are prepared to work unsociable hours for, very often, little more than the minimum wage.

That has become evident at some establishments in my own experience with service levels deteriorating and kitchens, on occasions, having to close.

So, with that in mind I’m glad to say, Exeter’s The Ivy is very much bucking the trend.

The Ivy Collection today announces it will be bringing a touch of Ivy magic to Exeter, as it prepares to welcome its first guests on Wednesday, 9 June, with reservation lines open from today.

In celebration of the opening, floral Ivy letters, beautifully adorned with ivy and colourful primroses, have popped up in front of the iconic Exeter Cathedral and opposite the restaurant itself for one day only, creating a picture-perfect moment for passers-by and visitors alike. Themed characters and a marching band are also on hand to help spread additional joy throughout the city....

Caribbean restaurant and bar, Turtle Bay, are welcoming guests back to their Exeter restaurant from the 23rd July. Bookings are now open for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks.

With overseas holidays off the agenda for most, the restaurant’s colourful and eclectic interior, beach shack bars, incredible rum cocktails, beautiful soul food and laid back reggae soundtrack provides a tropical escape on your doorstep.

Ladies Do Lunch at Deer Park

Ladies Do Lunch, Exeter’s highly successful dining club, paid a visit to the recently refurbished Deer Park Hotel near Honiton where they enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the beautiful Italian garden, looking resplendent in the early Autumn sunshine.

Then followed a tour of the kitchen garden from head gardener Ollie who passed on some tasty tips about growing vegetables and herbs.

After a champagne reception, the ladies enjoyed a three course lunch in the hotel’s award-winning Loxton’s restaurant.
