The Three Degrees are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group has remained a trio with 2 original members since Sheila Ferguson left many moons ago.

The Three Degrees are well known for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, and fabulous stage shows. They are known all around the world for songs like “When will I see you again”, “Dirty Ol’ Man”, “Take Good Care Of Yourself”.

Devon Primary School Centred Initial Teacher Training has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for its 4th consecutive inspection.

DPSCITT was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2003, 2006, 2009 and now again in 2016.

Andy Ogden, Programme Manager of DPSCITT said “We are obviously delighted. 100% of our last year’s trainees are currently employed as teachers, so we feel that this is an excellent place to train and are very pleased that Ofsted agree with us!”

Gritters out on Devon's roads as snow and ice forecast

Gritters are out on Devon’s main salting routes this afternoon as temperatures are set to dip below zero later.

With freezing conditions forecast across the county, road surface temperatures are expected to plummet to as low as -3.3C in East Devon from early this evening, and icy patches may be a problem in areas of the county affected by water run-off following recent rainfall.

The County Council is advising people to take extreme care if travelling overnight and tomorrow morning, particularly on untreated roads.

Thatch fire warning after Devon pub blaze

Firefighters have issued a warning to owners of thatched properties.

The warning comes following a fire which destroyed the Ring of Bells pub in North Bovey yesterday (Wednesday 13 January).

Ten fire engines attended the incident and fire crews worked throughout the night to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby thatched properties. A crew is still at the scene today to dampen down hotspots.

Spending boost for Devon care services

Devon County Council is set to spend at least £443 millions on services in the new financial year.

Devon's ruling Cabinet today agreed to set a target budget which includes a £16 million boost for under pressure care services.

But there will be a reduction of £3.4 million in Place services which covers highways, libraries and the economy. The target budget calls for the county to spend an extra £16.1 million on its People services in the new financial year. That's an increase of 5.4 per cent on this year's spending. Devon and Cornwall Police have welcomed the OPCC’s ‘101 – One year on’ report.

Hosting RWC2015 returns benefits to Exeter

Hosting the Rugby World Cup is returning many benefits to Exeter, a report to the City Council will set out next week (21 January).

More than 34 million people will have seen television and other media and press coverage of the city's involvement in the games amounting to an equivalent value of £1.5 million worth of advertising.

The exact amount of economic benefit that RWC2015 brought to Exeter is still being measured and will be announced later this year. Before the tournament Ernst and Young forecast a total of £39 million economic benefit to the city.
