With the Brexit Referendum moving closer, we can expect a highly politically influenced Budget next week, when Chancellor George Osborne announces the Government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) as well as his tax change proposals for the following financial year.
John Endacott, Head of Tax at Francis Clark and former Tax Writer of the Year, thinks the Chancellor has some tough decisions to make in the face of reduced growth predictions and lower tax revenues. He said: “He has already dropped the revenue raising...
A third of people who suspect child abuse do nothing to report it, according to the Department for Education.
Many don't report their suspicions because they're worried about being wrong or that they're overreacting, the Government says. But in a new national campaign, being promoted locally by Devon County Council, the message is that you don't have to be absolutely certain about your suspicions before reporting them.
The campaign, 'Together we can tackle child abuse', aims to highlight the fact that everyone has a role to play in protecting children and young people from...

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is delighted to announce that Yvonne Amer has received the inaugural Hazel Ball volunteer of the year award.

Yvonne was recognised for her hard work, reliability and flexibility; and was presented with her award by Hazel’s husband, Jeff Skinner, and their daughters Lydia and Elly.
