A total of 26 players have now signed up for the Eamonn Dolan Memorial Match with Richard Logan, Glenn Cronin, Alan Gow and John Hodge all set for a return to St James Park. The game, which is being held on Sunday, October 23, with a 1pm kick-off, will see two Exeter City XIs made up of players Eamo played with, managed or brought through battle it out at St James Park with all the money raised going to two chosen causes – Action Bladder Cancer UK and Exeter City Academy. Utility road reinstatements to be examined by Scrutiny Committee

The reinstatement of Devon’s roads by utility companies will be examined by Devon County Council’s Place Scrutiny Committee next month (November).

The latest findings from the County Council’s annual coring programme, which tests work by utility companies, has revealed that standards have slipped over the past year.

Around 300 core samples were randomly taken from utility reinstatements across the county from July 2015 to July 2016. This programme examined samples from 146 roads and 155 footways, all of which had complied with visual inspections.

Axminster Hospital fully operational after flooding

Services at Axminster Community Hospital are now back to normal after it was temporarily closed last week due to flooding.

The flooding, from a burst water main pipe, caused some infrastructure damage and affected the hospital’s IT services and electricity supply. As a result, services at the hospital had to be temporarily suspended.

Staff from the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare Trust, together with partner organisations, worked jointly throughout last week and into this week to fix the problems.

Heroin, crack and cash seized in Exeter

Three men have been arrested and drugs and cash seized following a warrant being executed at an address in Exeter.

On Monday the 10th of October, officers from the neighbourhood policing team and drug enforcement officers executed a misuse of drugs act warrant at an address in Longbrooke Terrace, Exeter.

Three men aged 21, 19, and 18, all from London were arrested.

New watchdog for Exe Estuary

Marine businesses, fishermen and sailors are to get a new voice about what happens on the Exe Estuary.

Commercial fishermen, ferry operators, mooring authority representatives, pleasure boaters and boat yard owners have come together to form a new watchdog, the Exeter Port Users Group.

This is a result of Harbour authorities, such as Exeter City Council, now having to consult their local communities about what happens on the Estuary.
