20/06/2013 - 11:00am

The mill building itself is open every day between 10am to 5pm, and entry is free. The ancient mill workings are fully open for public viewing, and the water wheel is kept turning.

We usually mill our signature stoneground flour twice a month. On milling days, our millers are very happy to chat to visitors and...

If this blog inspires you, please pass it on to others and should you ever consider volunteering, we would love to hear from you....

I’ve only ever worked in the charity sector and I have chosen to dedicate my career to this for a variety of reasons. I have to believe in who and what I am working for and I have to know that the energy I put in to my working week is making a...

The performance of Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer and the Devon and Cornwall force is scrutinised in the first of a series of publicly viewable one-to-one meetings with Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg.

The PCC holds the Chief Constable to account for the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan. The correct mechanism to achieve this in a structured, comprehensive and transparent way is being developed, and part of this includes regular meetings that will be viewable by the public in full.

England's ancient trees are under threat

The Woodland Trust is concerned almost 84,000 ancient, veteran or notable trees are in danger from a multitude of pests and diseases, including 7,000 treasured ash trees which could be at risk from ash dieback. More than 115,000 trees, some of which have survived for more than 1,000 years, are registered on the charity’s Ancient Tree Hunt website and the majority of these could face direct threats from pests and diseases.

Ancient trees are the natural equivalent of listed buildings; they’ve stood for hundreds of years and witnessed historic events while watching silently in the...
