Doubts raised over Dawlish Air Show

Doubts have been raised over the future of Dawlish Air Show.

The following statement has been posted on the show's website:

"Volunteers, fans, visitors, supporters and Friends of Dawlish Airshow, thank you for your continued support and interest in the show and your patience while waiting for us to announce the 2016 date.

Sea Vixen to make Dawlish Air Show debut

Dawlish Air Show organisers have announced that the world’s only airworthy de Havilland Sea Vixen will be displaying at Dawlish Air Show later this month.

This Sea Vixen is the only airworthy aircraft of its type in the world and symbolizes a hugely important time in the history of British naval aviation, representing the high speed strike aircraft of her era– the Scimitar, Sea Vixen, Phantom and Buccaneer.

Each year Dawlish Air Show attracts tens of thousands of people to watch an array of aircraft take to the sky at this award winning air show.

The main flying display will take place on Saturday with a family fun day on the "ground" on Friday.

As well as the thrilling air displays on Saturday this event also offers events and attractions on the ground and family fun on the Lawn in Dawlish including sideshows, stalls, and ground displays offering something for everyone.

FGW celebrate Red Arrows' 50th season

First Great Western have named one of their high speed trains in celebration of the Red Arrows’ 50th display season.

The power is named “Red Arrows: 50 Seasons of Excellence” . The train naming, which took place at Exeter St David’s Station, celebrated the start of the 2014 Dawlish Air Show and marks a significant milestone for the Red Arrows.

The award-winning Dawlish Air Show attracts over 80,000 people each year, all keen to bask in the glory of the coastline and enjoy the spectacular displays.
