Peace and Goodwill: Faure Requiem in Exeter

Join Exeter Choral Society for our winter concert on the theme of Peace and Goodwill.

The concert is on Wednesday 30 November at St James' Church, Mount Pleasant, Exeter and the programme includes Faure Requiem ; Finzi In terra pax ; Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Christmas Carols.

We are conducted by Laurence Blyth, accompanied by Andrew Millington, and joined by soloists Julia Featherstone (soprano) and James Quilligan (baritone).

From choir stalls to concert platform

Lovers of classical music are in for a rare treat this weekend, as Exeter’s best-loved choir combines with professional orchestral players for a special evening of music by Mozart.

The concert in Exeter Cathedral, which takes place on Saturday 18th June, will be given by the children and adults of Exeter Cathedral Choir and the professional orchestral players of the Cathedral Chamber Orchestra.

Following their Exeter debut in 2013 Blackdowns Early Music Projects return to the Cathedral 7.30pm August 31st with another programme of spectacular baroque choral works performed by an impressive line up of musicians.

Musical Director JanJoost van Elburg will conduct the combined expertise of The Monteverdi String Band, His Majesty’s Sagbutts and Cornetts, the Altenburg Trumpet Ensemble and vocal soloists from the country’s top ensembles, as well as a talented group of singers from all over the UK and Europe.
