<p>Running from the 20th-22nd of May the international, three-day Pint of Science festival will see thousands of scientists simultaneously bringing their research out of the lab to share with the public in over 300 cities across 24 countries. Founded seven years ago by two UK researchers, the festival brings a unique line up of talks, demonstrations and live experiments to the nation’s favourite locals. New for 2019 is the festival theme “What Next?” – we’ll be posing this critical question to researchers working across a huge range of scientific disciplines.</p>

Exeter School Chemists are bright sparks

Upper Sixth pupils at Exeter School took part in the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad with four Silver and eight Bronze prizes awarded.

The international competition was the 48th UK Chemistry Olympiad.

Head of Chemistry Richard Tear said this year's competition was extremely challenging.

"We are delighted by the performance of our pupils," he said.

An innovative art installation goes on show this week to bring alive the greenhouse gases that are causing climate change. Local artist Clare Bryden has been knitting larger than life versions of the particles and making card games. The exhibition, which will be on display from 11-24 July at the Glorious Art House in Fore Street Exeter, is designed to be a playful way of sparking people's interest in the science and issue of climate change.

A touch of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
