A donation from Haines Watts Chartered Accountants Exeter to their Charity of the Year, Families for Children Adoption Agency (FFC), has enabled the worthy cause to run two preparation courses for potential adopters. Haines Watts, based in Southernhay, raised over £2,000 for FFC through various activities and networking events over the 12-month period. This included an event to launch FFC as their new Charity of the Year held at Exeter Audi with sponsored Exeter Chiefs player Craig Mitchell during National Adoption Week.

Mo Bros from Simpkins Edwards Raise over £400 ... and counting!

A group of ‘Mo Bros’ from Exeter-based chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards has so far raised over £400 by taking part in ‘Movember’ – and the total is set to rise when additional money raised from the staff Christmas party is added later this month.

Motivated by Partner Adrian Hemmings, who lost his father-in-law to prostate cancer 10 years ago, the Mo Bros included Jamie Brimblecombe, Jason Chant, Jon Dufty, Nick Feeney, Phill Hargreaves, Mark Simic, Jordan Mitchell, Antony Norman and Richard Holt who are all based at the Exeter office.

Haines Watts advise offshore HSBC account holders to 'act now or face a heavy penalty'

Southernhay-based Chartered Accountants Haines Watts urges local taxpayers with undisclosed HSBC bank accounts in Jersey to seek advice as a matter of priority. The warning comes just days after a list, containing the names, addresses and account balances of 4,388 UK residents with offshore accounts, was given to HMRC by a secret source. Collectively, they have £699 million in current accounts at the bank.

A partner with a Bideford-based Chartered Accountancy firm, has passed all of the Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) taxation examinations with flying colours, on the first attempt.
