Restoration of the historic Clapperentale Waterwheel, set in the enchanting Tale Valley, East Devon, is a step closer thanks to staff from the Exeter office of Chartered Accountants Simpkins Edwards.

Robin Doddrell and Rob Deare received top honours in the latest Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) rankings.

A new European Union regulation designed to address the risk of market manipulation in financial securities came under the spotlight at a seminar in Exeter.

Speakers at the second PKF Francis Clark South West Alternative Investment Market (AIM) seminar highlighted the actions needed to avoid falling foul of the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR).

Nineteen staff from five offices of chartered accountants PKF Francis Clark, including Exeter, celebrated their exam successes at a special reception.

The ‘Class of 2016’ achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in their taxation and accountancy exams.

Managing Partner Andrew Richards described the results as “outstanding”, adding: “They have all worked so hard for these qualifications and I, and the rest of the firm, could not be prouder.”
