Devonshire Freemasons Help with the Costs of Cancer

Macmillan Cancer Support's Financial Grant Scheme has recently been boosted by a donation of £5,000 from the Devonshire Freemasons. The donation was made after the Freemason's learned of the financial struggle people are facing when diagnosed with cancer.

Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, Suzie Warren, said "We are so grateful for the support we have received from the Devonshire Freemasons. This donation will have a direct impact on people in Devon struggling with the cost of cancer."

Local Charities benefit from work of Exeter Foundation

The success of the Exeter Foundation was highlighted in all its glory as 18 local charities and organisations were rewarded at Saturday night’s Season Launch Dinner held at Sandy Park.

A grand total of over £53,000 – raised through match-day bucket and car park collections – was distributed to the charities and organisations following another hugely successful year for the charity.

Each charity was also given an extra £1,000 as a gesture of thanks for their ongoing good work that they continuously provide for the citizens of Exeter and surrounding areas.

Free, specialist Information and support about cancer is coming to Devon from Tuesday 6 September to Thursday 8 September.

Macmillan Cancer Support’s mobile service will be visiting the area, with cancer information specialists on hand to answer questions and provide information. The team encourages anyone with worries or concerns relating to cancer to stop by, whether you’re living with or beyond cancer, or are a carer or loved one of someone who is.

Teignmouth agency provides free marketing for global charity

Aquamarine Media are providing the complete set up and management of monthly paid search marketing campaigns for global charity, Microloan Foundation.

As part of the Google Ad Grants scheme, the Teignmouth-based agency will be running multiple PPC campaigns for the charity, worth $10,000 in advertising a month, completely free of charge.

The campaigns, which will be monitored closely by a team of experts, will drive quality traffic to Microloan Foundation’s website and significantly increase the awareness of the life changing work they do.

RGB charity golf day raises over £2,000

RGB Building Supplies recently raised a fantastic £2,035 for its nominated charity, Prostate Cancer UK, during a golf day held at Bovey Castle in association with Exeter City FC. A total of 27 teams made up of suppliers, customers, staff and Exeter City players took part in the day with a team representing RGB’s Exeter branch winning the fourball competition and being awarded the Andy Shinner Memorial Trophy. M&S and FORCE Cancer Centre are calling on local people to roll up their sleeves and Spark Something Good in a week of volunteering that will positively impact 24 projects at the heart of the community in Exeter and Plymouth.

On Sunday 11 September, we are calling on volunteers to help give patients, carers and families a peaceful outside space where they can come to talk, relax, and simply be together in a safe and peaceful environment..
