Charity darts event raises thousands for sight loss charity

On Sunday 19th March, the Barrett Family who live in St Thomas, Exeter held their annual charity darts event in aid of sight loss charity, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

The event has gone from strength to strength over the past 7 years and is now attended by more 80 local people.

Sam cycles London to Paris for young cancer patients

Sam Pratt spends her day managing the CLIC Sargent Exmouth Charity Shop but this amazing woman is going one step further to help more young cancer patients.

In September this year Sam will be cycling from London to Paris to help raise money vital funds for CLIC Sargent.

Data protection warning for charities

A leading South West expert in data protection is highlighting the pitfalls of data protection, following 11 charities being fined by the UK’s data watchdog. The Information Commissioner’s Office has issued fines to high profile charities including Cancer Research UK, The Royal British Legion and Oxfam. The offences included piecing together data from various sources and trading personal details to target new and lapsed donors. The sale of photographs featured in an exhibition of work by past pupils at Blundell’s School, who have gone on to have successful careers as photographers or in related fields, raised £630 for Cancer Research UK. Exeter School's 16th concert for WaterAid

For the 16th year running and with support from South West Water and On Tap Water, the talented young musicians and singers from Exeter School will perform a special concert to raise funds for international charity WaterAid.

All proceeds from the concert, which takes place at St Michael's Church, Heavitree, from 7.30pm on Wednesday 26 April, will go directly to WaterAid projects in Zambia, helping some of the country's poorest communities gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.

A kind-hearted student from the University of Exeter is putting her best foot forward, to help raise funds for an essential children’s charity.

Allie Short, 21, is making her final preparations before competing in the gruelling Virgin Money London Marathon, later this month.

Unique Exeter painting sold for fire fundraising

A painting depicting everyday life in Exeter’s Southernhay district has been auctioned to raise funds for a new cultural tribute after the Cathedral Yard fire.

Property Search Group wanted to bring together the city’s law firms to raise money by commissioning and auctioning the painting, created by Devon artist and illustrator Sara Nunan.
