National charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People are desperately seeking kind-hearted volunteers in Exeter and surrounding areas to look after an adorable puppy in the home for a year.

The Charity currently has over 800 working partnerships between deaf people and hearing dogs across the UK – and is hoping that the New Year will encourage new and enthusiastic volunteers to get involved by caring for a cute and cuddly puppy.

Otter Nurseries Announces Charity of the Year 2014

It was a great start to 2014 for emergency couriers Devon Freewheelers when they were named Charity of the Year by Otter Nurseries.

The popular garden centre near Ottery St Mary has pledged to help the charity raise enough money for a brand new bike, enabling it to provide an even more efficient voluntary service to the NHS, transporting blood and other medical supplies across Devon.

Staff at local health insurer Exeter Family Friendly have been busy buying presents to give the young carers of the Mid Devon-based charity project “Kids Who Care” a special Christmas surprise.

The charity supports 230 young carers; offering advice and mentoring as well as the chance to get together with other young carers at club nights and fun days out for well-deserved respite.

Local Wealth Management Company Brewin Dolphin Exeter hands over a cheque for £2,500 to its first ever Charity of the Year, Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education. Exeter School raises over £4,700 for charity in one month

On Thursday 12 December, Exeter School’s Sixth Form girls played a charity football match to raise money for the school’s charities with the Lower Sixth beating the Upper Sixth 2-0. Exeter based singer and songwriter Charlotte Ward, has joined local campaigning beauty therapists the Skin Angels, on their crusade to educate young people about looking after their skin.
