Exeter-based heating solutions company ZERO stands to win a grant of up to £150,000 as one of the shortlisted companies competing to win the Shell Springboard Award for 2016.

TEDxExeter aims to more than double its reach this year thanks to the loyal support of existing sponsors, and new organisations who have come on board. Their sponsorship means that many more people will be able to see some of the world’s best thinkers share their ground-breaking work and ideas.

West Country accountants and financial planners Old Mill are sponsoring Children’s Hospice South West’s 2016 £50 challenge in a bid to raise £25,000 for the North Devon based charity.

The £50 Challenge is an annual event where local businesses compete against each other to turn a £50 start-up investment into as much money as they can over a three month time frame, with all money raised going directly to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Devon Delivers launches Business Promotion Grant

Businesses across Devon are being invited to apply for a grant to help them reach new audiences.

Devon Delivers, the County Council programme which aims to encourage businesses to relocate to Devon, has launched its Business Promotion Grant to help companies promote their goods or services to national and international trade audiences.

Grants of up to £1,000 are being offered through a competitive bidding process.

The funding will support eligible businesses to cover direct exhibiting costs of attending trade shows or events between February and December this year....

Quarterly Economic Survey results for Devon indicate resilience in manufacturing sector

The British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) results for Q4 2015, released on Thursday 7 January, indicate slower economic growth in the short term. The QES, Britain’s largest and most authoritative private sector business survey, based on almost 7,500 responses from companies, shows that most key manufacturing and services balances were weaker this quarter, but nationally manufacturing firms faired worse.
