Leading construction supplier stopping off at Exeter builders merchant for demonstration event

Leading construction industry supplier TIMCO is touring RGB Building Supplies’ branches giving advice and demonstrations to those working in the trades and property owners, and will be at the Exeter depot on Monday 24th July.

Between 7.30am and 2pm, visitors to the branch will be able to see demonstrations of TIMCO’s effective insulation board fixings and advanced coach screws. Experts from the supplier will be on hand to talk to customers and answer questions.

There will also be giveaways and special offers throughout the free event.

Survey indicates that local tradespeople are upbeat about state of industry

According to a survey conducted by the Independent Builders Merchants Group (IBMG), which includes RGB Building Supplies, tradespeople across Cornwall and Devon are optimistic about the industry, despite the rise in inflation affecting the price of building materials and the cost of living crisis impacting workload.

The survey of self-employed tradespeople and small to medium-sized companies highlighted that there is plenty of building work taking place, with 83% of respondents confirming they have ‘too much or more than usual’ or ‘a manageable amount’ of work in the pipeline....

A pioneering boatbuilding firm is relocating to East Devon to manufacture components for the UK’s first fully electric workboat and charging station, in a move which will secure 30 local jobs.

Coastal Workboats Limited (CWL) will be building their new HQ and advanced manufacturing site at Honiton’s Heathpark Industrial Estate. Major plans for student and co-living blocks at Exeter’s former Heavitree Road police station have been rejected.

Up to 1,435 new Cranbrook homes, a second neighbourhood centre and a primary school could be built under freshly proposed plans, submitted to the council this week.
