Driver dies after crashing into wall

The driver of a car involved in a collision near Teignmouth on Tuesday 19 April has died.

Oliver Patrick Daniel Galvin, 39 and from the Birmingham area, died shortly before 4am on Thursday 28 April 2016 at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Officers were called to the scene of the collision shortly before 1am following reports of a single vehicle collision on the A381 Newton Road, near Bishopsteignton.

A silver Suzuki Ignis collided with a stone wall near the Metro Motors car sales garage and the vehicle rolled causing significant damage to the car.

Work continues on Teign Estuary Trail proposals

A planning application could be submitted in the summer for a section of the Teign Estuary Trail from Kingsteignton to Bishopsteignton.

Early discussions have been held between Devon County Council and landowners along the 2.5 mile section of the route and, subject to satisfactory negotiations, the County Council is planning to put forward proposals next year.

Work is underway on preliminary designs and site visits will be arranged in the coming months.
