City businesses cycle for charity

Exeter Business Club’s chosen charity this year is CEDA, the Exeter based organisation that offers learning and social opportunities to disabled adults and children. CEDA’s Craig Bowden, seen here centre left, received a cheque for £1,500 from the club’s secretary Ben Didier.

Every year EBC chooses a city-based charity as their chosen cause. Funds are raised through membership fees and a variety of social events. Club members even joined in CEDA’s recent cycling challenge by riding three static bikes and pedalling away throughout one of their meetings.

Beaches act as giant sponges soaking up wave energy and this reshaping of the beach will give it a protective healthy layer in readiness for any future winter storms like those that hit the South Devon coastline in February.

The work starts today (21 October) and will take three weeks. The work has been...
