May Bank Holiday Car Boot Sale

Topsham Rugby Club will be hosting their second 2016 Car Boot Sale on Monday 30th May (Bank Holiday) from 9:30 am to 1pm.

Public on foot free entrance, £1 donation for parking.

Sellers will be welcome to set up at 8am with fees from £6 per car and small vans, larger vehicles at £10 each.

The clubhouse will be open with hot food and drinks available all morning.

Bar will also be open towards lunchtime, with guest ales and longstanding favourites on offer.

RAC warns of a long ‘Bad’ Friday on the roads this Easter

The RAC Breakdown Cover team is warning anyone planning to getaway this Easter to expect a long ‘Bad’ Friday on the roads as over five million motorists take to their cars for some well-earned time away. RAC Traffic Watch data shows a total of 16.8m car journeys will be made over the Easter weekend as people make the most of the long weekend visiting family and friends or enjoying a break in the spring weather somewhere different.

There are early signs much of the UK will see an improvement in weather over the bank holiday weekend and this will last through much of next week, according to the Met Office.

Whilst rain and showers are likely across much of the country on Saturday and at first on Sunday, there are signs of an improvement from the west as we go through Sunday and Monday.

The change in the weather is being driven by the jet stream which is slowly moving south east whilst weakening significantly.

BBQ Fever Hits The Magdalen Chapter

Police crackdown on illegal raves

Devon and Cornwall Police are calling upon the public to help them prevent and disrupt illegal raves over the busy May Bank Holiday.

The Force will be running Operation Derig to take a tough stance against rave goers and organisers by closing down illegal gatherings.

Dedicated officers will patrol potential rave sites due to the increased risk of illegal events over the holiday weekend.

Almost roadwork-free Bank Holiday!

The Highways Agency will be helping holidaymakers have happy holidays by keeping traffic moving over the August bank holiday weekend, ensuring that 98 per cent of England’s motorways and other major roads are free of roadworks. Around 164 miles of roadworks will be completed before the August bank holiday weekend and 110 miles will be suspended between Friday 22 August and Tuesday 26 August, providing extra lane capacity for holiday traffic.
