Throughout August, wagamama will be showcasing LGBTQIA+ artists at soulful outdoor performances titled, Soul Sessions. The live music sets will take place between 6:30-8:30pm on different weekdays, dependent on location, at some of the restaurants’ most iconic outdoor dining locations. Soul Sessions will celebrate some of the diverse and empowering voices hailing from the LGBTQIA+ community as part of their pride celebrations this year.

A playful and innovative set of new small-scale arts commissions, designed to harness Devon and Cornwall’s creative talents by showing that ‘home is where the arts is’, have been launched.

Arts and Culture, University of Exeter has partnered with the Exeter Phoenix, Kaleider and Exeter Northcott Theatre to unveil this new initiative to encourage freelance artists across Devon and Cornwall to unleash their creativity - using inspiration found only in their homes.

THG hosts South West Academy’s anniversary exhibition

THG kicks off 2020 by presenting exceptional work from the South West Academy of Fine & Applied Arts (SWAc) and an exciting programme of workshops and events.

The exhibition marks the start of the Academy’s 20th anniversary year and will feature work in a diverse range of media including paintings, sculpture, prints and photography.

15 artists announced for major Contemporary Art Exhibition

This September, the region's leading contemporary arts venue, Exeter Phoenix, will present a significant showcase of emerging and established contemporary visual artists from across the UK. Established in 2006, Exeter Contemporary Open has come to be recognised as one of the UK's most prominent contemporary arts competitions. Exeter’s budding creatives called to enter new competition

A new initiative launches today, giving Exeter’s emerging artists and designers a unique opportunity to take over a large window space on Paris Street. Exeter-based designer, Charlotte Froud, approached Princesshay with the idea for the competition to use the large available window display space on Paris Street. Queen Street is a key route into the city and this month has seen that route brightened up with new art work installed with the help of InExeter and the St David's Neighbourhood Partnership.

Local artists donate new signs to Dray Court in Exmouth

Two new mosaic signs were recently installed at Dray Court, in Rolle Road, Exmouth.

The signs, made and donated by Exmouth artists Allan Punton and Manya McMahon, are made from hand-cut Venetian glass.

The artists are now working on two further signs to be installed later in the year at Morgan Court, on the other side of Rolle Road, completing the overall theme of the four seasons.

Contributions towards the cost of the materials have been made by East Devon District Council and MPS Windows.

Pupils' work shortlisted for national award

The artwork of two Exeter School pupils has received recognition in a prestigious national award.

William Dean and Lydia Brookes-Ferrari's biological specimen drawings made the shortlist of the Nancy Rothwell Competition.

The national competition is an opportunity for pupils to combine their artistic talents with detailed observations and anatomical knowledge.
