Car targeted by vandals in Exmouth

Police are appealing for information after an Exmouth man’s vehicle was damaged by vandals.

The black VW Jetta was targeted by three men around 10.55pm on Saturday 29 April in Cleveland Place, Exmouth.

The roof of the vehicle was dented causing approximately £4000 worth of damage.

After the incident, the men walked through the alleyway next to Garners Home Hardware and onto The Strand.

Police are investigating and seeking the suspects, the main offender was described as white, 25 to 30 years old, between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall, of stocky build, wearing jeans...

Police are keen to locate a 25 year old man from Honiton known as Josh Richards (see image) who officers believe may be able to provide some information that could help with their enquiries relating to two separate offences that took place last year.

Detectives would like to know his whereabouts so they can speak to him in connection with the theft of a car from Ottery St Mary in November and a burglary in Honiton that took place in October.

Josh is known to have links in Axminster, Torquay and Ottery St Mary.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of 17-year-old Alex Carter White who has been missing since Saturday.

Alex was last seen at 2.30pm on Saturday 29 April 2017 in the Exeter area.

He is described as a white male, 5ft 11'' tall, slim build with short sandy coloured hair with a stubble.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green hooded top and black trainers carrying a black rucksack with red colouring.

If seen or if anybody has any information as to his whereabouts, please contact the police quoting log number 235 – 30/04/2017.

CCTV appeal after serious 'hit and run'

As part of the ongoing investigation into a serious 'hit and run' collision that took place in Kingsteignton on 8 April, police collision investigators have released a CCTV still that ‘just’ shows a dog walker that they would like to speak to (see the area highlighted with a red circle on image).

Search for relatives of Exeter City FC's Blitz victims

Exeter City Football Club are searching for any relatives of a former Chairman and a player who died on active service in the Exeter Blitz in May 1942.

Frederick Joseph Collymore Hunter was Chairman of the Club at the time of the blitz. He is buried in St John's in the Wilderness churchyard, Exmouth. Albert Edward Potter was a former player and is buried in All Saint's churchyard, Whipton Chapel.

Hunter was in the Home Guard and Potter an Air Raid Warden. Both are commemorated on a war memorial at the Club.

As we put the clocks forward this weekend, the National Trust’s Castle Drogo is inviting people to donate their unwanted clocks to become part of a new contemporary art installation, ‘Harrison’s Garden,’ by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram, that will be on display at the castle from 14 July. Exeter Northcott Theatre is looking for local children to join the cast of its recently announced family pantomime Dick Whittington.

The theatre is searching for talented young male and female actors, aged between 10 and 15 on 1st September 2017, to take acting, singing and dancing roles in the show.

CCTV released after city centre brawl

Police have released images of a number of people they wish to identify in connection to a large-scale fight in Exeter City Centre.

Police were called at around 2am on New Year's Eve (Saturday 31 December 2016), with reports of a fight outside Natwest Bank in the High Street, Exeter.

A number of people were taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital following the disorder, including a 24-year-old man from Exeter with a suspected fractured eye socket and vertebrae.

One man was arrested at the scene and was bailed until the 19th of January pending further enquiries...

Police appeal after man stabbed in Exeter

Police were called to Leighton Terrace, Exeter, just before 9.50pm last night [Sunday 15 January] following reports of a man being stabbed.

The Police helicopter was called to assist in a police search for the suspect, who was subsequently located in woods just off of Prince of Wales Road, Exeter.

An off-duty paramedic and ambulance services were also on the scene to assist with the victim who had several stab wounds.

The 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
