Devon backs Freeport proposals

Devon County Council has agreed its support for the development of the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport sites in the county.

The Freeport has the potential to unlock £314 million of inward investment and create more than 3,500 jobs by building on the area’s global reputation for marine innovation and advanced engineering.

Hospiscare receives £2,000 contribution to SOS emergency appeal from local housebuilder

Devon based charity Hospiscare is looking to raise £1 million in an emergency appeal. The charity is now nearing its goal with support from the local community and organisations such as Redrow South West.

Twilight Walk set to shine for Hospiscare’s 40th anniversary

Twilight Walk, the popular pink sponsored walk in aid of local charity Hospiscare, is due to return to Exmouth after two years.

The event will take over the seafront town on Saturday 9 July to raise much-needed funds for the local hospice for Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Receiving just 18% of its funding from the NHS, Hospiscare relies upon events such as Twilight Walk to fund its specialist end-of-life care.
